      God Questions - a dialogue A question that both Peter and Carl agree is fundamental to the debate about the existence of God centers on morality. Peter asserts that questions of right and wrong, good and evil, are resolvable in terms of absolute, objective values.   The question of whether man is inherently “good” or “evil” has inspired many poets and philosophers to produce a plethora of theater plays, poems, and tales. Human nature is by no means described by the Bible as good. Atheists tell us that we should be good for goodness sake, that people can be good without God.

        Kohlberg’s research yielded three levels of moral development. Each level consisted of two stages, leading to six stages in total. People pass through each stage sequentially with the thinking at the new stage replacing the thinking at the previous stage. Not everyone reached the highest stages in Kohlberg's theory. b. Even if there is a moral authority, it is not clear that we could be sure what he or she thinks about moral questions. c. The authoritative status of moral judgments can be established only if there are independent ways of testing the truth or reasonableness of those judgments. d. All of these are correct.

      My book is the first to actually try to look at the natural history of moral evolution. At what time and how did developments take place which led us to become moral?
